Why The House Doc?
329 Sunset Beach Dr. October 1994
Experience:

While practicing medicine in Auburn since 1974, I have run a side business--The Spare Time Construction Company (STCC). The STCC has one employee and one customer--me. Beginning in 1975 with a kitchen remodel and followed by a large addition in 1978, I have been involved in construction, culminating in the (re)building of our current home (thanks to the tree that fell on it shortly after purchase.  See pictures to the left).

I have been involved in all phases of construction except foundations and carpet. Those I leave to the experts. I have done framing, roofing, siding, windows/doors, insulation, interior finish, floors, plumbing, and electrical work. I am now something of an expert in one man construction techniques.

For many years I have looked at homes for relatives, employees, and friends. these were informal inspections with verbal opinions only. More recently I have begun doing full written reports.

Training:

I have taken more formal training through the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) and have passed their Standards and Ethics Examination. I have also passed the National Home Inspectors Examination. I am a member of the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors (NACHI).

I have taken extensive training through the American Building Inspection and Training Co (ABITCO) and have been licensed as a Home Inspector by the State of New York (UID#-16000009540.
